Bear Lake Road -- Bear Lake
Bear Lake at Rocky Mountain National Park

Elevation 9,450 feet
The work on the trail around Bear Lake is complete and is totally accessible! This third trail around a lake (Lily and Sprague Lake also have accessible flat trails) is the most challenging as some of it does involve up and down hill sections on the far side of the lake. These sections are no steeper than a typical access ramp.

Photo Facts

This picture was taken within 1 hour of sunrise in June. 1999. There was no wind. This only occurs when the center of a high-pressure system is directly over the park. Watch the weather reports for this condition.
